Root Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon : Hello budds !! Do you own a RN4 and badly need to unlock developer options. Here is the quick and best  working guide on “How to Root & Install TWRP Recovery on Redmi Note 4“.

As we all knows RN4 Snapdragon Indian variant running latest MIUI Global Stable ROM with Android Nougat 7.0, all of you already know that the xiaomi redmi note 4 is india’s TOP selling smartphone but for a tech geek a question suddenly arise in the mind that whether we can easily root it or not and also how to install TWRP recovery on redmi note 4 snapdragon? So we are here to help you out from this awkward equation !

So folks in this post I’m going to show you step by step guide on how to root and install TWRP recovery on our Redmi Note 4. So lets proceed it stepwise and in correct manner to avoid  interruption in mid way somewhere.

Warning : Please don’t try this method on any other devices. We (OKTricks.Com) are not responsible for device loss/damage.

Requirements:

  1. Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm Device With Latest MIUI 8.5.8.0 Running Android Nougat 7.0
  2. Unlocked Bootloader (Very Important)
  3. Leptop/PC (32/64 Bit)
  4. ADB & Fastboot Drivers – Download
  5. MI Flash Unlock Tool – Download
  6. TWRP Recovery Installer – Download
  7. Magisk 14 – Download
  8. LazyFlasher – Download
  9. Root Checker – Download

[h]Unlock Bootloader Redmi Note 4 (Skip if already done)[/h]

1. How to Request Unlock Permission :

  • First You need to signin/signup for MI account on your device
  • Now visit http://en.miui.com/unlock and click on Unlock Now Button
  • Enter your exciting MI account id/pass (enter same account details you used on your device)
  • Once you login click again on Unlock Now button. After that you will see next page like this

  • Now enter your Name,Country,Mobile Number and Unlocking Reason (use unlocking reason like below)

“i want to root my device so please grant my bootloader unlocking permission”

  • Finally enter captcha as you see on page -> click on ‘i confirm’ and APPLY NOW
  • After that enter verification code which you received on your mobile number & click NEXT

  • Now you will see a message says ‘Submitted. Please Wait For The Review’

  • All done !! Now wait 2-3 days and you’ll receive an updated regarding unlocking permission via SMS
  • Received sms would be – “You have been granted permission to unlock your device”

Important note : After receiving permission from MI Wait at least 1 Week then follow Next Step (Don’t Try Before 1 Week)

2. Setting Preference To Unlock Bootloader :

  • First goto settings on your phone
  • Click on About phone and Tap on MIUI version 4-5 times

  • A message will appear on your screen with a popup says – “you are now a developer”
  • Now again go to settings & click on ‘Additional settings’

  • Scroll down and select ‘Developer options’

  • Here you find ‘OEM Unlocking’ just click on it

  • Confirm your pattern & click on ‘Enable’

  • Now click on ‘USB Debugging’ & click OK

  • All done !! Now follow the steps given below to finally unlock your bootloader

3. Steps to Unlock Bootloader :

  • Go to your Laptop/PC
  • Make sure ADB & Fastboot Drivers are already installed
  • Make sure your Laptop/PC is connected to INTERNET
  • Download MI Flash Tool & Open on your Laptop/PC
  • Now Login with same MI account which you used on your device (Important)
  • Turn off your device & wait 10 seconds
  • Now Press Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously until you see MI Bunty logo (Fastboot Mode)
  • Release both button after you see MI bunty logo on your screen (see above screenshot)
  • Now connect device using original USB cable to your Laptop/PC
  • If You see ‘Phone Connected’ on MI Flash Unlock Tool you’re going great 😉

  • Otherwise make sure you have properly installed ADB & Fastboot Drivers
  • If your phone is connected then finally click on ‘Unlock’ Button

  • Wait till your device is Unlocking…..
  • Finally you will see “UNLOCKED SUCCESSFULLY” that’s enough !! your Bootloader Is Now Unlocked

    • Now click on ‘Reboot Phone’ button to restart your device
    • If you see any error on MI Flash Unlock Tool during unlock then try all steps again
    • If you have successfully unlocked your bootloader then come now, let’s root your device 🙂

[h]How to Root & Install TWRP Recovery On Redmi Note 4[/h]

  • First make sure you have Unlocked your Bootloader (check above process)
  • Download & Copy Magisk 14LazyFlasher to Internal Memory of your device (Important)
  • After copying above two files Turn off your device & wait 10-15 seconds
  • Now Press Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously until you see MI Bunty logo (Fastboot Mode)

  • Release both button after you see MI bunty logo on your screen (see above screenshot)
  • Download TWRP Recovery Installer on your Computer & Extract to your Desktop using Winrar Software
  • Now double click on “twrp-installer” file (see screenshot)

  • You will see menu like this on your screen

  • Just press any key to proceed
  • Make sure your device in fastboot mode (MI bunty logo appear on device)

  • Now connect your device to laptop/PC using original USB cable
  • Again press any key to start installing TWRP Recovery (if you see ‘waiting for device’ means your device not connected properly OR ADB/Fastboot drivers not properly installed on your computer)

  • If you see like this means You have successfully installed TWRP Recovery on your device

  • Now press any key to Boot TWRP Recovery on your device
  • After TWRP is booted on your device click on “Keep Read Only” button

  • Now you will see main menu like this

  • Click on Install button & Select Magisk 16.zip file from internal memory

  • Now click on ‘Add more zips’ button (see screenshot)

  • Then select LazyFlasher By OKTricks.Com.zip from internal memory (Very Important)
  • Finally tick mark on “Reboot after installation is complete”

  • Now Swipe Slider to Right Side (see screenshot)

  • Wait till flash completed After process is done your device reboot automatically (don’t panic)
  • Congratulations !! You’ve successfully ROOTED your RN4 & TWRP Recovery is successfully installed on your device as well
  • To clear all the doubts, lets check the root status of your device

[h]How to Check Root Status of Your Device?[/h]

  • First Download & Install Root Checker App On your device
  • Open App and click on ‘Agree’ button

  • After that you will see main page of Root Checker App like this.just click on ‘Verify Now’ button

  • Now Superuser request is ask to grant permission.simply click on ‘Grant’ button

  • If you see screen like this Congrats root access is properly installed on this device

  • Congratulations ! You Have Successfully Rooted Your Redmi Note 4.. Cheers 😉
